Famous for its palaces and magnificent gardens, you’ll be whisked away to another world, and being surrounded by the pure fresh air, evergreen pinewoods, and the tranquillity of the enveloping mountain, the Vip Inn Miramonte is a haven of serenity. The hotel is a perfect combination of relaxation and activity, enjoying a pool, and beautifully surrounded by extensive gardens whilst the walks will have you out and about. This is a 2 star hotel but will exceed your expectations.

our opinion: Established hotel within a traditional building on the main coastal road with the beach and famous Estoril Casino nearby. There is a small bar serving light meals and snacks and a lounge area. The restaurant has lovely views out over the coastline. Bedrooms are classic in style. There is an outdoor pool and sun terrace.

Praia Mar Hotel, Lisbon Coast

our opinion: Delicious and sexy, this stylish offering is situated along the Estoril coastline just 15km from the centre of Lisbon. As intense as chocolate, the rich browns against crème offer a highly modern setting for a relaxing beach break, yet so close to Lisbon too! From the panoramic roof restaurant, there are superb views across the ocean, whilst a pool makes a great alternative if you can't pull yourself away from the hotel. For those that can, revel on a beach that is one of the largest along the coast. Rooms are very well furnished and offer views out across the Atlantic ocean. A funky lobby and lounge with a relaxing bar all go towards making this a super choice.

our opinion: Stunning resort style hotel located on a verdant headland in the historic and beautiful resort of Cascais. Just a short walk to a choice of small beaches, pine park, the beautiful old palace and the town centre. The rooms have a swish and contemporary feel (having just been refurbished and completed in 2009) with garden or sea views. The outdoor pool and large sun terrace are surrounded by maintained gardens. There is also a trendy bar area, and a new look restaurant serving up a wonderfully creative menu. Finally you'll even be able to enjoy the wellness area where you can opt for a massage or work out. A lovely combination to run alongside a few days in bustling Lisbon City. The traditional bar is accessed from the attractive lobby area. There is an outdoor pool with sun terrace and snack bar, and a small gym.
