our opinion: Located in a lively area between the Gare du Nord, making it ideal for Eurostar travellers and Montmartre, with all of its cafes, restaurants and pretty cobbled streets and squares, the Altona Hotel Paris is a straightforward budget hotel that offers no frills at a very competitive rate. Rooms are all different sizes and are decorated in different styles, but are comfortable. This hotel is recommended to people looking for a good priced bed for the night but who will be spending most of their time out and about exploring all of the sites this great city has to offer.

Antin Saint Georges Hotel, Paris
our opinion: The new sister property to the popular Antin Trinite, the Antin St Georges Hotel Paris is in a lively and friendly part of the city that is around half way between the Opera and Montmartre. Most of the rooms are large for their 2 star category and although a little old fashioned all are well kept and are gradually being updated. The new management have already made changes to the lobby and breakfast area, giving it a more modern feel and as in the sister hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The metro is less than a minute walk from the hotel on the pretty Place St Georges and the area also has numerous restaurants for going out in the evening. A good value for money option in a convenient location.

our opinion: Located about a 10 minute walk from the lively Place de la Bastille the Bastille Charonne Hotel Paris is a good budget option for those looking to be close to busy nightlife, but who also want a reasonable level of comfort. The bars and clubs of Rue de Lappe are just a short walk away as are several trendy boutiques and cafés that have been opening over the past few years. The area does still have a bit of an up and coming feel to it and the rooms can be a bit on the small side, but if you're looking for a basic, friendly and cheap option then this hotel should fit the bill.

our opinion: Located on the outskirts in the North East of Paris this hotel is well located for Disneyland Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport and also the Stade de France. For clients who are in their own car there is private parking, but there is also easy access into the centre of Paris with both Gare du Nord for the Eurostar and Haussman, which is next to the Opera and the big department stores, being on a direct RER train line from Rosny. The hotel is clean and well run by the same owners as the nearby Quality Golf Rosny, which also offers a greater number of facilities like the restaurant that guests can use. A good base to stay that offers excellent value for money. Official rating 3 star

our opinion: Located on the far side of the Butte Montmartre on a commercial street with shops and restaurants, Les Jardins de Paris Montmartre Hotel is a good budget option in a popular part of the city. Rooms are simple in style and amenities, but clean and decorated in cheerful colours and there's also a pleasant breakfast room. The nearest metro offers easy access to many other popular areas, with a direct line going to Madeleine, Concorde and also over the river to the left bank. A simple, good value for money option.

our opinion: A small traditional hotel with some modern furnishings in a quiet, very Parisian street. Excellent location in the heart of Montmartre. The hotel has changed its name and although now called Comfort Place du Tertre Hotel Paris, it is actually a good 10 mins walk from the famous Square. Clean, comfortable rooms, fresh-looking and welcoming, some on the small side. Tiled reception area with breakfast room downstairs.

our opinion: Superb location in first arrondissement near Place Vendome, Louvre and Tuileries Gardens. The small, two star Prince Albert Louvre Hotel Paris has lots of character and is decorative, with very traditional public areas and ornate reception. Bedrooms can appear a little old fashioned but will be updated. Very quiet location in the centre of Paris.

our opinion: A new addition to the Prince Albert chain, the Prince Albert Lyon Bercy Hotel Paris offers good accommodation at a very affordable price, just like his sister hotels. The location is ideal for those going to concerts at Bercy or needing quick access to the Gare de Lyon. It is a good base to discover Paris and also to get to Disneyland with direct access to the RER. The hotel is simple yet nicely decorated with a spacious and airy reception. All the bedrooms are decorated individually with taste, simply furnished and with basic facilities but the hotel has all you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

our opinion: The Prince Albert Wagram Hotel Paris has been renovated to a good standard offering comfortable dwellings for a hotel of its category. The 32 rooms are homely and welcoming, decorated in warm colours. Breakfast is taken in a "cellar type" room, quite common in Paris. The hotel is situated in a very quiet side street with easy metro access to the Arc de Triomphe and the major attractions of Paris.

our opinion: The Prince Monceau Hotel Paris provides a very good standard of accommodation at a very affordable price. The 26 rooms are homely, spacious by Parisian standards and decorated in light colours. The owners constantly try to improve the service and the appearance of the hotel and make this hotel a popular choice to business and leisure travellers alike. Although called 'Monceau', the hotel is situated a good 10 mins walk from the famous Park. Hotel has no lift.

our opinion: The Timhotel Italie Hotel Paris is located in a quiet street, close to the Place d'Italie (which has a direct Metro link to the Gare du Nord), in an area well known by the "real" Parisians! Small hotel with a modern style built into a traditional building. Bright looking rooms decorated in light colours. Good value for money and easy metro links to all of Paris.

our opinion: Situated at the foot of the Montparnasse tower, the Timhotel Montparnasse Hotel Paris is in one of the most lively areas of Paris. It is close to numerous restaurants and theatres and therefore provides an excellent location. Quality, modern 2 star accommodation, with basic facilities but cosy and welcoming rooms decorated with taste. The hotel is in fact made of 2 buildings, each with its own breakfast room.

The hotel boasts a small garden where breakfast can be taken when weather permits.

our opinion: The Bellevue Hotel Paris is a small, independently run hotel that was fully renovated in 2003 and is in a great location, at the foot of the Sacré Coeur church in Montmartre, an area that is renowned for its little cafés and restaurants- a district always full of life and a fun atmosphere. The rooms are pleasantly decorated, in burgundy or blue tones, are simply equipped and have new white bathrooms (mostly with shower only). Good standard accommodation in a great location that offers very good value for money!

our opinion: Located between the Gare du Nord and the Marais area, very close to the Place de la Republique, the Best Western Aida Marais Hotel Paris is a lovely little hotel that offers a haven from the bustle outside. There is a covered central courtyard that has been newly furnished with contemporary furniture and has plenty of natural light, meaning that this is a pleasant space to relax in. The bedrooms are all stylishly decorated, with wooden floors and the white bed linen helps to give them a fresh and airy feel. Overall a friendly and stylish hotel in a good central location.

The bedrooms are very spacious for Paris standards and all have now been completely refurbished and are decorated to a good standard. The hotel is non-smoking throughout. our opinion: This typically Parisian hotel has been entirely refurbished to a very good standard, the bedrooms have been fitted with parquet flooring and have all been tastefully decorated. The Eiffel Segur Hotel Paris is made of 2 buildings separated by a little courtyard with a total of 34 bedrooms. The main building is situated on a main avenue just in front of the overland metro but benefits from double glazing, which means that they are all relatively quiet. The location is superb, only steps away from the Invalides, Unesco and Eiffel Tower, in a busy and thriving quarter of Paris. Very good value for money!

our opinion: Located on a wide Boulevard close to the Place de la Bastille and also the historic Marais district the Marais Bastille Hotel is a small, well kept hotel offering good value in a popular area. Decorated throughout in warm colours the rooms are well equipped and the staff are very welcoming. Numerous boutiques, restaurants, patisseries and bars are close by and the beautiful Place des Vosges, the Picasso Museum and the winding streets of the Marais are all just a short stroll away. All the other sites and areas of the city are easily accessible by metro or bus. A good choice of hotel in a popular location.

our opinion: Super location in the heart of Paris, in the first arrondissement by the Tuileries, the Louvre museum and Place Vendôme. The building dates back from the 18th century and the Des Tuileries Hotel Paris has been decorated with a lot of charm and sophistication. The public areas and the 26 compact bedrooms are furnished traditionally with antiques, tapestries and paintings. Very quiet location.

our opinion: Charming, intimate hotel of 23 bedrooms, which allows staff to give a personalised service to each guest. The Etoile Trocadero Hotel Paris is located in a sought-after location, a residential area between the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower(both are within walking distance). The reception area is small but very welcoming, with character and tastefully decorated. The rooms can be quite compact (not unusual for Paris) but are comfortable, some having been refurbished recently. All are well equipped. A nice little hotel in a great location.

our opinion: Small, simple hotel with very friendly staff who pride themselves on their service and helpfulness. A renovation has brought the Glasgow Monceau Hotel Paris up to a 3 star standard. The bedrooms are now very pleasant and decorated in tasteful Meditarranean, warm colours. Bright breakfast room with iron chairs and table, just off the reception area. Very quiet street with good metro access to all of Paris. A 20 minute bus ride from the Gare du Nord for those arriving on the Eurostar.

our opinion: A lovely little hotel, situated in a superb location on the Place St. Augustin, only a short walk from the Madeleine and concorde, and the fashionable shopping area of the Rue du Faubourg St. Honore. The reception is homely and decorated in a very Parisian style. Downstairs cellar breakfast room is cosy with traditional wall paintings. The rooms are comfortably decorated, however, some are a little small. Having not been updated for a few years, we feel the Malesherbes Hotel Paris corresponds more to a 3 star category than a 3 superior. Friendly and helpful reception staff/concierge.

our opinion: The 3 star Paris Eiffel Cambronne Hotel was renovated a couple of years ago and provides comfortable rooms, all with modern furnishing and good facilities including air conditioning. It also benefits from a good location on the left bank, 10 mins walk from the Eiffel tower, 15 mins to Montparnasse and a pleasant stroll to St Germain. All the main areas are easily accessible by metro as the nearest station has an interchange of 3 different metro lines.

our opinion: The Paris Est Lafayette Hotel is well located for Eurostar travelers as it is situated only a few steps away from the Gare du Nord. An old Hausmann building totally renovated into a nice, good quality hotel. The comfortable rooms are furnished in a stylish, modern way, and offer air-conditioning-quite rare for a 3 star hotel. They are either decorated in deep blue or deep red and are all very welcoming and cosy. The hotel boasts some larger rooms and triple rooms which is also unusual for Paris.

our opinion: Located on the outskirt in the East of Paris, the Quality Golf Rosny Sous Bois Hotel is very convenient for Disneyland but also the Stade de France and the airport. It has the advantage of offering very good accommodation at affordable prices especially at the weekend. Located by a golf, it offers comfortable and quiet stay to all guests; yet Paris and its attraction are only few minutes away by the Rer train (a stroll away from the hotel). The property itself is purpose built with nicely decorated rooms well appointed and pleasant public areas.

our opinion: This modern hotel is located in the West of Paris, in a quiet suburban town, in front of the market square. The heart of Paris can be easily reached by RER train in 15 minutes with the train station being only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The Quality Inn Nanterre La Defense Hotel represents very good value for money especially at weekends and will pleasantly surprise you. It offers good and comfortable accommodation and an extensive buffet breakfast after a good night sleep. All the rooms are spacious by Parisian standards, nicely decorated, well equipped and are regularly renovated. The hotel offers also a bar and a restaurant.

our opinion: Small intimate little hotel of only 17 rooms, which allows each guest to be treated in a very special way. The Villa Des Ambassadeurs Hotel Paris is tucked away in a small street and offers very quiet stay to all guests. As it is located in the Golden Triangle, people can reach the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe and the Trocadero in no time. The hotel is decorated in a traditional style, with a lounge/reception area looking like an old English gentleman's club. (wood paneling and leather sofas) The bedrooms are compact (not unusual for Paris) but attractive and comfortable. Finally the breakfast room with its colonial style is a nice place to start the day!

our opinion: Small intimate hotel, priding itself in its warm welcome and individual service. The Villa Opera Lamartine Hotel Paris offers personal touches like baking the croissants themselves, offering bath robes and a turn down service. The hotel also offers room service in partnership with a good restaurant nearby. The décor is very Parisian with traditional French wall paper in blue, cream or pink in the bedrooms. The 28 rooms can be compact but are comfortable and welcoming. The area is lively and friendly, with Montmartre and the Opera only a short stroll away. A very typical Parisian hotel with an extra touch!

The theme throughout the Villa Van Gogh Hotel Paris is the South of France and the hotel is full of lovely Provencal furniture. The reception is intimate and welcoming with a personalised service given to each guest and there are thoughtful touches throughout like the DVD library in reception that is free for guests to use on leaving a deposit. The bedrooms are compact (not unusual for Paris) but decorated with taste. A lovely little hotel for people who are looking for the "real" Parisian experience.

our opinion: The rooms at the intimate Central St. Germain Hotel Paris were entirely renovated at the beginning of 2009 and the hotel offers good quality accommodation at a reasonable price. It is situated in a popular area, in the heart of the Latin quarter, on a quiet road just behind Boulevard St Michel and near La Sorbonne university, with Notre Dame and the boutiques and restaurants of Saint Germain being just a short walk away. It has a large marble reception area and the bedrooms are surprisingly large by Parisian standards. Each floor has a different colour scheme, with several shown in the pictures, but all are decorated to a high standard with quality furnishings being used. A popular choice in one of the most sought after areas of this beautiful city!

our opinion: Entirely renovated and newly opened in the summer of 2008, the Color Design Hotel offers something very different to the traditional Paris hotel. Built around a central courtyard it is decorated in a very contemporary style and every floor has a different colour theme. The design is minimalist and yet it retains a good level of comfort, with large flat screen TVs, fantastic rain showers and a bean bag in every room for relaxing! Approximately a 10 minute walk from the popular Bastille area the Color Design hotel is a truly modern hotel at the more affordable end of the 'design hotel' market.

our opinion: The family run Grand Hotel Francais Paris is located between the Bastille and Nation in an up and coming area of Paris that offers lots of restaurants and bars. The reception area is airy, bright and spacious and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar throughout the day. The 40 bedrooms have been totally renovated in 2008 and are of an excellent quality for the star rating. The owner prides himself in offering a very good service, with lots of extra touches throughout the hotel such as free wifi and slippers in the rooms and is well renowned for his hospitality!

our opinion: Having been fully renovated and refurbished the fresh new hotel Le Chat Noir Design Hotel Paris opened its doors at the beginning of 2008 and is a contemporary hideaway in bustling part of the city. Located close to the Moulin Rouge in an area that is famous for the more risqué side of Paris nightlife guests are also an easy walk away from the winding streets and village atmosphere of Montmartre and very close to a metro stop offering easy access all over the city. All of the rooms are decorated in warm colours with fresh white bed linen and modern bathrooms with either a bath or a shower. The theme throughout the hotel is the Black Cat (Le Chat Noir) and this adds a fun atmosphere. Overall an impressive 3 star hotel that offers something a bit different to the norm.

our opinion: Comfortable and welcoming hotel situated in a great location, just off Place de la Bastille in front of the Opera Bastille! Following a major renovation a few years ago it offers very pleasant surroundings and is consistently being updated, with the latest addition being flat screen televisions added in 2008. The reception is very cosy, decorated with warm colours, with a relaxing bar area on the side. As the Paris Bastille Hotel is purpose built all the rooms are of a similar size, which are quite big for Paris standards. They all offer the same facilities and are decorated in grey and burgundy colours, which gives a very warm and friendly impression. This hotel is especially good for families or mini groups as it offers triple and quad rooms.

our opinion: Good quality small 3 star hotel, nicely and traditionally decorated, with friendly staff. The Serotel Lutece Hotel Paris is located near the Rue Mouffetard, a typical quarter of old Paris with food markets, good inexpensive restaurants and much life at night with street cabarets etc. The lobby is very welcoming and light, all in marble, with a relaxing and cosy lounge/bar on the side of the reception. The bedrooms are traditionally decorated with pastel colours and are very well looked after. Overall a very pleasant hotel where you will feel very welcome.

our opinion: Situated in a prime location in the heart of the Latin Quarter, renowned for its historic streets, cafés and nightlife the Trianon Rive Gauche Hotel Paris has been renovated throughout 2008 and now offers excellent quality for its star rating. The lobby and breakfast room on the ground floor are decorated to the highest standard and all the rooms and bathrooms have now also been completed. You will pay a bit more for the privilege of the left bank location, but being so close to so many of the sites and being able to enjoy the atmosphere of this great area makes it worth the extra.

our opinion: Beautiful exclusive hotel, right in the heart of the Marais, a vibrant and lively area, quite often considered as the heart of Paris. The Villa Mazarin Hotel Paris is very well maintained and offers some stunning accommodation. Each floor has been decorated in a different colour; the décor of the corridors is quite modern yet the bedrooms have a very traditional feel with beautiful material and furniture. This hotel will particularly appeal to the gay community as le Marais is historically the old Jewish quarter with its winding streets, pretty squares and quirky shops, but is also now the gay area of Paris and the hotel is marketed with a no child policy. The hotel benefits from an attractive inner courtyard that is set up for guests to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner in the summer months. Non smoking policy throughout.

our opinion: The Amarante Champs Elysees Hotel Paris is a small and friendly, traditionally styled hotel located on a quiet road just one street back from the Champs Elysees and close to the Arc de Triomphe. Guest rooms are all individually decorated, but retain the traditional feel of the rest of the hotel. There is a comfortable lobby area and a bar that serves drinks until late into the evening and although there is no restaurant at the hotel the location means that there are plenty to choose from in the very close vicinity.

our opinion: A modern hotel for kids and grown-ups alike. Just adjacent to the EuroDisney park, the Dream Castle Hotel at Disneyland Resort Paris is a good alternative to a Disney hotel! It is obviously child orientated but has found the right balance between entertaining the children and appealing to the adults too. Guests can relax in a soothing atmosphere after a busy and noisy day at Disney and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the hotel. our opinion: In a privileged location in the heart of the city, the Hotel Cambon Paris is just moments away from the Tuileries Gardens and the Place de la Concorde, with many of the famous museums, monuments and boutique shopping streets an easy walk away. Housed in an old building the reception and lounge area is an elegant space with a relaxed atmosphere and the overall style of the hotel is a well designed mix of traditional and contemporary. Due to the nature of the building the 40 bedrooms do vary in size, but all are individually decorated, many displaying pieces of art from the owner's private collection. A true gem of a hotel in a great location.

our opinion: Behind a traditional façade lies a very modern hotel entirely refurbished and stylishly re-decorated in 2003. The overall feel of the K&K Cayre Hotel Paris is very soothing, with a priority given to earth colours, beige, brown and white. This includes a spacious reception area, breakfast room and bar/bistro. The atmosphere is relaxing, and this also applies to the modern bedrooms. They are elegant with a minimalist design, yet welcoming and comfortable. They offer very good amenities including tea/coffee making facilities. (some bathrooms are on the small side). This hotel is a great alternative to the traditional style Parisian hotels. It is also located in the prestigious and vibrant area of St Germain de Prés, on the Left bank, walking distance to Latin Quarter, Orsay Museum and Le Louvre.

our opinion: Officially a 3 star, this boutique hotel deserves a 4th star in our eyes. Le Senat Hotel Paris has been recently renovated with care and taste to a very high standard. On entering the building (which dates from 18th century), you will feel immediately the soothing atmosphere due to the special lighting. The lobby is very cosy, with a relaxing bar area and lounge at the back. The bedrooms have been decorated in a modern style, with warm colours and dark wood furniture and the bathrooms are made of black and white marble of the highest quality. But the best selling point of this hotel has to be its location, by the Jardins du Luxembourg and Senat, between St Germain des Prés and Latin quarter.

our opinion: Located within easy walking distance of several of the iconic landmarks of the city, the Plaza Tour Eiffel Hotel Paris is was entirely refurbished at the beginning of 2006 and offers fantastic accommodation in very pleasant surroundings. Indeed, beautiful materials have been used in the bedrooms like leather for the headboard, chair and desk. The décor of the bedrooms and the public areas is contemporary with modern touches and very importantly you will be guaranteed to have a good night sleep as the hotel is located in a quiet street, yet just 2 minutes from the busy Place du Trocadero.

our opinion: This small boutique hotel is ideally located in the "golden triangle" of Paris, between the Champs Elysées and the Seine. Step out of the Powers Hotel Paris and you will find all the designers shops, fancy restaurants and fashionable clubs of Paris! The hotel is a traditional building and has retained most of its original features from the 19th century: marble fire places, parquet flooring and cornices. It is traditionally decorated and offers all the comfort required in a 4 star together with the latest technology. The bar is a very cosy and relaxing place to be after a busy sightseeing day.

our opinion: Newly opened in 2009 this stylish hotel is housed in an old historic banking building and merges the old with the new with a great deal of style. The stunning entrance hall gives a fantastic first impression, with the reception, tapas bar and restaurant all in what was the old foyer of the bank. Rooms are decorated to the highest standard with high quality materials being used throughout and it's also worth a quick visit to the public toilets, which isn't something we get to say very often! The location is pretty good too, just a couple of minutes from the large department stores of Printemps and Galeries Lafayette with the Opera and the Madeleine just a short stroll away. A stylish choice in a popular location.

our opinion: This charming hotel lies behind the splendid façade of the Champs Elysees in a quiet street. Verging more on the style of an art gallery than a hotel it boasts 4000 original paintings and lithography throughout the corridors and the bedrooms. The reception is spacious and impressive, decorated in marble with antiques furnishings. The California Hotel Paris is built around an atrium/inner courtyard which means the guests are guaranteed to have a peaceful stay with only a few rooms on the road. The bedrooms are all uniquely decorated , some having been refurbished more recently than others. They all have a traditional theme and offer good all round facilities. To complete the picture, the hotel boasts a restaurant and an original bar designed on a maritime theme.

our opinion: New on the Paris scene, this designer property is the sister hotel of the Murano. The Kube Hotel Paris offers similar standard of service and accommodation but has its own identity. It is located in a small side street, almost in a secret location. It consists of 3 buildings around a cobbled courtyard where the glass Cube reception stands. Once you have crossed the reception, you move into the warm atmosphere of the lounge bar and head off in search of your room. Black lights, dark walls and fluorescent colour figures offer a new sensorial experience,. Each room is luminous and full of contrasts,. The KUBE® concept is omnipresent in this intimate decor, in the form of bedside tables, mini-bars, customised baths or washbasins. The ultimate experience at the Kube and quite an attraction is the Ice Bar. At minus 10 degrees, you will get to experience the bar made of ice, the surreal atmosphere and customized music. Quite unusual and amazing!

our opinion: Quite deceiving, you would not think that behind this relatively modest façade lies a hotel with 1025 bedrooms. Only 9 floors, the Meridien Etoile Hotel Paris consists of different wings built around a small garden. For its 30th anniversary in 2002, the hotel was entirely redecorated and the result is quite impressive. Soothing colours have been used throughout the hotel and the reception looks welcoming and airy. The bedrooms have quite a neutral décor, all in brown, beige and earth colours. They are cosy and comfortable and offer very good amenities. The hotel will appeal to Jazz amateurs as the bar transform into a Jazz club very known to the locals! Please note that although called Etoile, the hotel is located in Porte Maillot which is 10 mins walk to the Arc de Triomphe/Etoile.

our opinion: Modern, high rise hotel located in Montparnasse on the left bank, and offering a high level of accommodation and service. The Meridien Montparnasse Hotel Paris was built in 1974 and the 953 rooms over 25 floors have undergone renovation at different time which means that there are different level of refurbishment and style. They are all spacious, very comfortable, and well equipped with the facilities you can expect in a 4 star hotel. Some are especially good for families as they include 2 double beds. (bookable with supplement) The hotel boasts 2 restaurants, "Montparnasse 25" offering gastronomic food involving cheese as main ingredient and "Justine" proposing a buffet of good quality French food in great settings (glass roof overlooking a garden).

our opinion: If you are looking for a homely place during your stay in Paris, the Victoria Palace Hotel Paris is the hotel for you! Well located between Montparnasse and St Germain the hotel is tucked away in a small street and offers an oasis of tranquillity. An old palace that has been entirely refurbished in a traditional and cosy way, using high quality materials and with great attention to detail. All the rooms are spacious, but if you are looking for something extra the romantically styled Junior Suites are some of the biggest we have seen in the city. our opinion: How to describe this very unique unusual and exclusive hotel? No other hotel in Paris will offer the same experience as the Murano. From the outside, the Murano Hotel Paris stands out with its white façade. Inside, the design is breathtaking, very original and the atmosphere soon will transport you out of the ordinary world. The check in is done on arrival behind a glass door but you won't need a key as you will open the room with your finger print! Welcome to future! In the bedrooms, the latest technology has been used, and you can choose your ambiance, green, yellow, red or blue. The main colour scheme is white including for the carpet, but bright touches in the décor have been use to contrast. The restaurant area is quite unique too, with a mixture of baroque and contemporary design. And while having a drink at the bar which transforms into a nightclub late at night, you will be able to meet the rich and famous! An unforgettable experience!
