our opinion: A comfortable, functional hotel in the Docklands located opposite the Excel Centre and the DLR and Overground stations so transport into the city is very quick and convenient. The hotel is also well located for London City Airport. Large welcoming lobby area which has recently had a small refurbishment and fairly spacious rooms with en-suite (shower only). Although rooms are quite simple they are comfortable, clean and bright. There is a breakfast room at the Custom House Hotel London and The Victoria pub which serves a food menu.

our opinion: Modern build hotel located between Gloucester Road and Earl's Court. The hotel has a refurbished bright lobby with light wooden flooring, seating area, breakfast restaurant and a juice bar (hotel bar is not licensed). Bedrooms are decorated in bright, bold colours, can be tired but are clean and comfortable. Bedrooms can be compact in size (room size does vary due to age of building) and many bathrooms are shower only. They are functional in style but offer 3 star accommodation in a convenient location.

Bedrooms at the Apollo Hotel London are decorated in a traditional style and all have particularly good en suite modern bathrooms for a hotel of this standard. Hotel has added a lift and some extra bedrooms this year. A good budget hotel in London.

our opinion: Officially 3 star this hotel in central London is just a few minutes walk from Oxford Street, making it a great base from which to explore the capital. The Astor Court Hotel London has 45 bedrooms which are generally very spacious; many have a separate seating area from the bedroom. The rooms have retained some period features such as corniced ceilings, but are a little old fashioned and dated. They are however very clean and offer great value accommodation for those on a budget but who want to be in the heart of London's attractions.

Small but light and welcoming reception area. Corridors are fresh and maintained and have recently been refurbished. Although simple they are clean and cheery with laminate flooring, light walls and soft furnishings. The bathrooms are capsule in design - cream with small sink toilet and walk in shower (similar to ship cabin) - it is functional, clean and allows maximum space in the bedroom. Great standard and value 2 star accommodation in London.

The restaurant at the Chiswick Moran Hotel London also carries through the retro chic style of the hotel. Bedrooms vary in size but are generally of a decent size for London; majority of bathrooms feature separate shower and double ended bath. Bedrooms come in three colour schemes but style and facilities are the same. our opinion: The Crown Moran is a relatively new hotel which has been artistically designed to incorporate an old Victorian Inn and a new modern glass building. The glass reception area is strikingly light and airy and this design theme is carried on throughout the hotel, where everything has been finished to a very high standard. The Crown Moran Hotel London offers a high standard of accommodation and the rooms have been decorated in a fresh style with contemporary bathrooms. The rooms are of a really generous size for London hotels and rich colours and fabrics create a really cosy yet modern, spacious feel. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna as well as a large gym for hotel guests only. The restaurant follows this hotel's design feel but again warm colours create a relaxing ambience, you also get full Irish breakfast at this hotel. our opinion: Stunning luxury London hotel in a great location just off Oxford Circus. The Langham Hotel London has a long and interesting history and can boast being the first London hotel with running water, lifts and electricity! Striking reception area with large marble pillars, high ceilings and ornate details which is followed through in all public areas such as Palm Court, Landau Restaurant and Artesian bar. The hotel manages to be effortlessly chic with a mixtures of the traditional and the contemporary. The bedrooms are of a good size and decorated in traditional style with all five star facilities that you would expect. With more space than a conventional hotel room but with the benefit of being connected to Riverbank Park Plaza hotel guests can enjoy hotel's public areas. There is plenty of storage in the apartments so perfect for that long stay (or storing all your new purchases!) small kitchenette which has all the facilities for self catering, lounge area and table and chairs as well as comfortable bedroom area plus private bathroom. our opinion: Location, Location, Location! This hotel is located on Leicester Square in the heart of London's West End. You will fee like a superstar at your own film premiere arriving at this lovely hotel. Reception area is warm and welcoming with original art works. Bedrooms are luxurious with faux silk walls, original artwork and marble bathrooms. The designer feel carried through to the restaurant and bar area which had an outside terrace area overlooking Leicester Square.

Although quite a large hotel it has a boutique feel to it and there is great attention to detail - both in the service and décor. The bedrooms offer ample space and are finished to a very high standard with rich and opulent soft furnishings. The rooms feature Bang & Olufsen digital systems. This really is a lovely 5 star hotel and you are ensured the very highest levels of service and comfort.

A listed 1950's building with Phillipe Starck furnishings in public areas along with theatrical draped curtains and unusual pictures. The bedrooms at the Sanderson Hotel London are chic and sophisticated whilst feeling romantic and dreamlike. Interior walls separating bedroom and bathroom are replaced by sheer ceiling to floor drapes which adds to the feeling of space and sensuality (there is also a black out blind for privacy!). Stunning Aqua Spa at the hotel along with two bars, restaurant and courtyard garden; if you do wish to venture out you are in the heart of the West End of London.

Town Hall Hotel and Apartments, London
our opinion: Wow, wow, wow! This hotel really does need to be seen and experienced to be believed. Town Hall Hotel and apartments is a spectacular conversion of a Town Hall (Grade II listed) building into a deluxe hotel. From the moment you step into the marble reception area you get a feel for the craftsmanship, history and splendour of this building and its sympathetic transformation. The attention to detail and the quality of the public areas and bedrooms is really exceptional. The hotel bar has an original, designer light feature which is very striking and something to behold whilst enjoying a drink (and maybe some tapas). The restaurant is intimate and mixes the traditional and the contemporary with a theatre kitchen and a fantastic International menu. The Bedrooms and apartments are of a generous size and all finished to the same high standard and style with sleek modern fittings, solid wood floors, large, airy windows, kitchenette area, designer bathrooms with a glass wall to the bedroom area (there is a curtain for those who prefer their privacy!). The De Montfort suite must be one of the largest and most impressive bedroom suites in London and such unique features as a chamber of commerce for functions - this is such a distinctive hotel. There is a Roman style 15m indoor swimming pool with skylight ceiling allowing light to flood in and a full gym. This hotel is an experience and one which we are sure you will enjoy.
