our opinion: Modern hotel in a great location for you shopaholics; located at Junction One Ireland's largest shopping outlet! our opinion: Located on the scenic Antrim coast only 20 miles (32km) from Belfast, Ballygally Castle Hotel County Antrim faces the award winning sandy beaches of Ballygally Bay. The original part of the hotel is a castle dating from 1625. The 44 bedrooms have been furnished in a traditional style with antique pine furniture. The famous Giants Causeway is close to the hotel as well as golf and fishing. But beware, you may bump into the friendly resident ghost!

our opinion: The Europe Hotel is Belfast's most famous hotel, and the choice of the ex-President Clinton during his visit. This grand hotel has a superb location right in the heart of the city on the Golden Mile, next to the Opera House. Rooms are comfortable and of a good standard although some single rooms are on the small side. our opinion: A modern hotel located at Shaw's Bridge, a picturesque country area only 5km from Belfast city centre. The hotel has an impressive large circular lobby area, two restaurants, a brasserie bar and extensive leisure facilities. The bedrooms are spacious; double rooms are usually a king bed and twin rooms are two queen size beds. Rooms are bright and modern with a high level of amenities. There is a new Ayurveda spa at the hotel which offers holistic health and beauty treatments from India as well as more usual spa treatments. A great base within easy reach of Belfast city centre, but can also enjoy the surrounding countryside, golf courses and full leisure facilities.

Slieve Donard Hotel County Down, Belfast
our opinion: The Slieve Donard Hotel County Down is an amazing red brick Victorian hotel overlooking Newcastle bay and the Mountains of Mourne. There is an impressive reception with chandelier and traditional peat fireplace providing a really welcoming ambience. The restaurant is striking, with large windows overlooking the bay, columns and high ceilings. Bedrooms are of a good size and generally with views of either the bay or the mountains. There are steps down to the beach directly in front of the hotel, Royal County Down golf course on your doorstep and the picturesque town of Newcastle. In addition to this there is a state of the art extensive Spa which includes a 20m infinity pool and 14 therapy rooms. It is a great hotel to get away from it all and still only approx. 40min drive from Belfast city centre!

our opinion: The Merchant Hotel in Belfast really has to be seen to be believed - it is beautiful! Originally headquarters for the Ulster Bank dating from 1857 it represents the grandeur and prosperity of the banking world in that era. Lovingly restored, The Merchant hotel now offers luxurious and beautifully appointed accommodation in this historical building. It has a welcoming boutique reception area with original art and antiques on the ground level, the upper ground level offers the most amazing dining space - The Great Room and the chic yet cosy hotel bar. Bedrooms are all unique and exquisite offering true luxury and indulgence. The Merchant also has an informal yet contemporary public bar, spa and gym, and its fantastic central location in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast completes the picture.
