why he loves what he does

Travel and the destinations I cover are the key factors.

most important part of a hotel

A nice clean floor - one that you can take your shoes off in and be happy to walk bare foot if you come out the shower. The other is having a well stocked mini bar with a good selection of chocolates and sweets!

 cities she covers

  • UK and Ireland - All (except London)
  • Denmark - Copenhagen
  • Norway - Oslo
  • Sweden - Stockholm
  • Estonia - Tallinn
  • Latvia - Riga
  • Finland - Helsinki
  • Hungary - Budapest
  • Iceland - Reykjavik

why she loves what she does

I love meeting different people and getting their views on the destination - we find out things that you might not necessarily discover yourself. I don't like the early morning flights from Gatwick!

most important part of a hotel

I think reception staff are by far the most important part and second to that steam free mirrors in the bathroom.

 cities she covers

  • UK and Ireland - London, Belfast
  • Czech Republic - Prague
  • Holland - Amsterdam

why she loves what she does

I love getting to see all sorts of places and hotels and meeting really interesting people along the way. I also enjoy pulling together a hotel program which offers variety of choice of location, style and budget.

most important part of a hotel

It really depends why you have booked a hotel e.g something different, central location, pampering break but aside from that a comfortable bed, a good breakfast and happy hotel staff make all the difference.

why he loves what he does

I have always loved travelling and combining this while working makes the perfect job for me! My hospitality background helped me a lot in pursuing my career, and of course the use of my language skills makes it easier and even more interesting...I am fluent in English, Italian, French...and a little bit of Spanish (with a Mexican accent) !

most important part of a hotel

I personally like hotels with a good size room and a firm mattress. In my opinion, the view is important, no matter if it's overlooking the sea, mountains or the city and I prefer to stay in a higher floor. Breakfast has to have a decent choice, including hot and cold options. When I am on a trip l love to get those sunny fried up eggs on toast, just like l make at home!

 cities she covers

  • Italy - Most of Italy including Rome, Florence, Milan, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.

why she loves what she does

Having been covering my great destinations for so many years with HotelConnect (over 7 to be precise!) I have developed great friendships with many of my hoteliers. Once we have argued over best deals, we have a great catch up about family, gossip and generally put the world to rights, over a cappuccino!

most important part of a hotel

Smiling faces at reception! Amongst the many things that I look for in a hotel, to be sure that it will fit in with our programme, I put a lot of value on a reception that really welcomes you into the hotel. Smiles, lots of ciao ciao and how was your journey's are very important to make a great first impression and making a client feel they made the right choice.

most important part of a hotel

Whether the hotel is a 1 star or 5 star deluxe, it must be clean throughout, safe and the staff welcoming and friendly.

 cities she covers

  • United States - New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, San Diego, Washington DC, New Orleans, Orlando, Palm Springs, Philadelphia, Phoenix/Scottsdale, Seattle
  • Caribbean - Costa Rica, Puerto Rico

why she loves what she does

Because of the people I meet and work with every day. The friendships and partnerships I have formed with both colleagues and hotel contacts over the years have been invaluable!

most important part of a hotel

Definitely staff! There are lots of hotels in New York and Las Vegas that have very special touches.....like the breakfast at Norma's in the Parker Meridien, the Gondola ride at the Venetian in Las Vegas or the view from the Mondrian in Miami but none are as important as the welcome you get when you walk through the doors. The best hotels we have for that in the US are the hotels in New Orleans!
